A Short Message from The Broducer

Good day, everyone.

It has come to my attention that, upon further review of the latest podcast (that would be “The Sprocket Formula: Episode 4″), there is no grim death on the part of Dagnis at the end of the video, nor from any other members of the podcast.  I know that this is unsettling for some of you, breaking the four-podcast streak that we had going. As such- I, The Broducer, deemed it important enough to step from silence and speak of the matter at hand.

Dagnis has stated, recently, that he is achieving a greater mastery of the elements of Guild Wars II.  As such, there will be, and have been, fewer deaths on his part in the coming play hours and podcasts.  This poses a threat to the nature of the closing moments of “The Sprocket Formula Podcast”.

As I sit here, drinking the essence of life from the chalice of good and evil, pouring my thoughts and tribulations into this post, and seething the truths of the future of this podcast from my lips, I implore you- the current, and aspiring, members of the Guild Wars II community- to suggest to me a fitting end for the podcasts from here on out, as symbols of Dagnis’s mortality are no longer guaranteed.

Please send all suggestions to thesprocketformula@gmail.com

Stress Test 3 Changes: The Turret Toolbelt!

We here at The Sprocket Formula like to think of ourselves as being “better than a toolbelt”. Sometimes, however, I feel that the toolbelt is quickly closing in on us. Today, I wanted to share the most recent change that came out for the engineer: turrets now add toolbelt abilities. It’ll change how you look at turrets, and can alter your play style- if you want to fully utilize them.

BWE #3 and the State of the Group

Just an update on the group and this weekend. We will be playing on the “Henge of Denravi” server; yes, we are moving.

We have a few let’s play events planned that will be recorded and shared, including a Sylvari opener and the basics of PvP as an engineer.

Currently we won’t be coming out with any guides until after release, since things are drastically changing for the engineer (mine kit removal has been confirmed, and other large changes are inbound). We just figured it would be a good idea to let anyone curious know.

Guild Wars 2 and the End Game

Guild Wars 2 is doing a wonderful job of doing away with traditional aspects of the MMORPG world. When it comes to the end game, Guild Wars 2 continues this trend. Due to there being no gear treadmill, there are many gamers scratching their heads wondering what they’ll do after they hit level 80 and finish their personal story. Here, you will find all you need to know about all your end game options and, chances are, you’ll be surprised at just how many there are.

Beta Weekend Event

Another Beta Weekend starts today, and you know what that means! You can find all of us on the Ehmry bay server. Keep reading for more information on what we plan on doing this weekend, as well as how you can join in on a Sprocket Formula “Lets Play” event.

Dagnis and Stringdude both go by their respective names in game.  Duxk goes by “Duxk Waterfowl”.

Our goals for the weekend:

Dagnis: I want to get to level 30 and take on the Ascalon catacombs. I also want to explore every zone I haven’t yet been to, and check out the new zone: Gendarran Fields. This area is catered to level 25-35 players, and is just north of LA.  Also, as a crafter, the Mystic Forge piques my interest, and I will be sure to check it out.

Stringdude: I will somehow finish getting all my elementalist’s abilities, get to level 30, and finish my test run on the Ranger and Thief professions- lots and lots to keep me busy this weekend. I’ll probably end up putting in, at least, a good thirty hours. Hopefully, given that we have time, we will be able to play some WvW to test out a few strategies that I have.

Duxk: I will be getting to level thirty as fast as possible. While doing this, I will be partaking in Ascalon Catacombs with the other guys. Hopefully, I can focus on the Automated PvP system to see how well it works!

We will also be hosting an event around 6 pm on Sunday night (EST), and we will all be trying to stay logged-in ’til server shutdown. Feel free to contact us in-game for details if you wish to join us.
